Although Scotty Nguyen has earned more than $10 million as winnings in his career tournament, he mentions that this is not was really gets him motivated.

This is what Nguyen told PokerListings, “It’s not the money, when you win tournaments; fame and money come with it. For me it’s so important to bring home the title, you want to show the world you still have It, you can come out and compete.”

Nyugen has been doing just what he loves and that is competing in tournaments like the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic.

The tournament had seen a huge crowd of players on the field almost 329 of well know poker players. However, only 16 of the entire lot are playing for the $1.5 million prize money that goes to as off Day 5 that was on Friday.

Before Nyugen got short stacked result of an unfortunate fall from grace, he was among those who were leading in this tournament. He however still continues to have a few shots at winning.

Till date he has managed to earn a whooping sum of $10,705,581 this also includes him ending 6th in the all –time money winner’s list as well as the Bellagio that was held this week. Apart from these he has also managed to grab 5 World Series Poker Bracelets apart from finishing 6th this week at the WPT Championship.

He however still needs to showcase his charm at the WSOP Main Event. The 48 year old champion said, “I get older and people loose respect, They say I don’t have my game no more, I’m scared. All those young guns, 21 or 22 year olds, they have big hearts, but Scotty has a bigger one baby!”
