Dolan Finishes Second in WPT’s L.A. Poker Classic
Raymond Dolan did not anticipate that his fate would be so good, especially when he was urged by his brother to enter into a poker tournament, which he did the last minute.
Dolan was richer over $1 million when he got out of the tournament.
Dolan had entered into the five day World Poker Tour’s LA Poker Classic that ended on Thursday. Dolan has been playing poker ever since the age of 15, and now at 23 this was one of the big tournaments.
There were around 74 players who took part in this tournament that was held I the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles where there was a chance to win $1.7 million as stated by the organizers. Dolan finished in second place where he had total chips of $1,002,710 in chips.
When questioned on Friday, Dolan mentioned that the money he won will be put aside for now, and he will use it to pay a few of his pending bills as well as showed prospects of future potential investment.
Dolan who is also a manger at the Com Tam Thuan Kieu, his family restaurant that is situated in Westminster said, “I still cant believe it, but I am happy with the million.”
Dolan had even superseded his brother Tim Phan of Tustin who has been a very successful player in some of the World Poker Tournaments of the past.
The Director of the marketing division of Commerce Casino said, “When we have these types of tournaments, we always like it when the locals come into the money.”
