NBC Heads-Up Poker is a Big Event for Poker Pros

The NBC Heads-up Poker Championships has only just begun and is currently in its sixth year. Most poker players therefore do not highly regard it with the ranks of the World Series of Poker bracelet events. However if you are looking for a place in the Heads-up bracket of 64 , planning grandly during the event, and winning it is what most poker pros always look forward to.

Chris Moneymaker the 2003 WSOP Main Event Champ says, “Because there are so many big names and because it’s on NBC, it’s a big deal for sure. It’s a fun event because its much different than your typical tournament with thousands of people in the field. I think this is something everyone looks forward to.” Chris was bumped out this year’s event that was held at the Caesars Palace during the quarter finals games by Erik Seidel.

After Chris had won the first round against Patrik Antonius, he spoke to various interviews saying that he really cared about the games, and this was after the first Heads-up win in 2005.

He smiled saying, “Are you kidding me? Of course I do, and believe me I remember every one of those losses. I got run over by Joe Hachem one year, but other than that those were all real tough losses so to get at least one victory here this year means a lot to me.”

Chris was seen killing spare time after he had won on Friday by jumping into the $1-$2 No Limit game that was in the Caesars Palace poker room. On Saturday too he was roaming the Caesars sportsbook between matches held and then went on to get his first heads-up cash taking on Leo Wolpert and then moving on to loose against Seidel.
